Patients from Belleair, Belleair Bluffs, Belleair Beach, and Belleair Shore make up a steady share of our practice, and after enough first visits you notice they ask the same dozen questions. Most of them are not about teeth. They are about continuity, about who actually does the work, and about whether a short drive up Fort Harrison Ave is worth it when there are offices closer to the Country Club. Here are the questions, in roughly the order we hear them, with the same answers we give in the chair. If you would rather ask them in person, book a first visit; the $99 new patient special includes a comprehensive exam, digital X-rays, and a written plan, and Dr. Cannady does the exam himself.
“How far are you from Belleair, really?”
About 6 miles. From the Belleair Country Club or Pelican Golf Club, our office at 1651 Rainbow Dr, Clearwater, FL 33755 is a straight run north on Fort Harrison Ave / Alt US-19, roughly 15 minutes door to door, with free parking at the entrance. From Belleair Bluffs, Belleair Beach, or Belleair Shore, take Indian Rocks Rd north to the same corridor and plan on 15 to 20 minutes. Our Belleair patient page has the rest of the logistics.
“Will I see the same dentist every time?”
Yes, and this is the question Belleair patients care about most. Dr. Cannady is the only dentist here. He designs your treatment plan, does the cosmetic and implant work himself, and checks it at every visit afterward. There are no rotating associates and no starting over with someone new. Appointments are scheduled so you are not rushed and not waiting.
“Are veneers worth it, and how long do they last?”
For the right patient, yes. Porcelain veneers are lab-crafted shells bonded to the front of the teeth that change color, shape, and apparent alignment at once; they resist coffee and wine stains and typically last 10 to 15 years. Composite veneers and bonding cost less per tooth and can be done in one visit, with a shorter lifespan. Our veneers page compares the materials, and veneers vs. bonding goes deeper on cost and longevity. Every cosmetic case here starts with photos and digital planning so you see and approve the design before any enamel is touched, and you receive a written quote for each option. Dr. Cannady's cosmetic training includes the Kois Center and the Clinical Mastery Series.
“Can whitening be done before an event?”
Yes. In-office whitening, supervised by Dr. Cannady, brightens most smiles by several shades in a single visit, which is why it is a favorite before weddings, galas, and the start of season. An exam comes first to confirm the teeth are healthy enough to whiten, and we will tell you honestly if existing crowns or veneers on front teeth will not change color.
“Do you place implants yourself, or send me to a surgeon?”
Dr. Cannady plans and places dental implants in this office using 3D imaging, from a single tooth to full-arch All-on-4, and then restores them here too. He has completed more than 500 hours of implant training through the AAID Maxicourse and the Implant Pathway program. The practical benefit is that the person who plans the case is the one who places and restores it, and your follow-up visits are 15 minutes from home rather than at a surgical center across the county.
“What do implants cost?”
Nationally, a single implant with its abutment and crown generally runs $3,000 to $5,000, and full-arch options range from about $12,000 to $30,000 per arch. Your own figure depends on bone, whether an extraction is needed, and the restoration on top, so every patient receives a written, itemized plan before anything begins. Many PPO plans contribute toward implant treatment; we verify benefits and file the claims.
“I don’t carry dental insurance. What are my options?”
A surprising number of Belleair patients are in exactly this position, often by choice. The Healthy Patient Membership Plan is our in-house alternative: $420 a year covers two cleanings, two exams, annual X-rays, and one emergency exam, plus 10% off any treatment, including cosmetic and implant work. It is not insurance, so there are no waiting periods, deductibles, annual maximums, or claims. If you do have a PPO plan, we are a fee-for-service practice that is not in-network with anyone, but we file claims for all PPO plans and most reimburse out-of-network benefits directly to you. Our insurance and financing page explains both paths, along with Cherry monthly payment plans for larger cases.
“Why fee-for-service?”
Because it means no insurance network has a say in what Dr. Cannady recommends. Treatment is based on what your teeth need and what you want, with the price in writing before work begins. Patients who have spent years in network-driven offices tend to notice the difference immediately: more time, premium materials, and no upselling.
“I’m anxious. Do you offer sedation?”
Yes. Sedation options are available for longer cosmetic and implant appointments, or simply for comfort, and Dr. Cannady has completed advanced training in sedation dentistry. Tell us when you book and we will plan the visit around it.
“Can my kids and my parents come here too?”
Yes. While veneers and implants bring many Belleair patients in, plenty stay for the whole household. Dr. Cannady sees children from their first visit through the teen years, including sealants and fluoride, as well as parents and grandparents, and families book back-to-back appointments so one trip up Fort Harrison covers everyone.
“What if something breaks before a trip?”
Call or text (727) 441-3523. We reserve time for urgent cases and work you in the same day whenever possible; a cracked crown before a flight or a toothache that will not wait is a common reason Belleair patients first find us. Tell us your deadline when you call and we will plan around it.
