Our Advanced Technologies

Explore the innovative tools and systems we use to deliver exceptional dental care.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

Our 3D cone beam CT scanner uses a 360-degree rotating arm to capture hundreds of high-resolution images in just seconds. These images are seamlessly combined to create detailed three-dimensional models of your oral structures, including nerve pathways, blood vessels, and bone density.

This technology is invaluable for planning dental implant placements and mapping complex root canal anatomy, ensuring precise treatment and better outcomes. You'll benefit from more accurate diagnoses and minimally invasive procedures.

Digital Dental Impressions

Say goodbye to messy impression putty and uncomfortable gagging. Our digital scanning system uses a handheld device to capture incredibly detailed three-dimensional models of your teeth and gums in minutes.

You can view your digital model on our chairside monitor in real-time, and we can instantly send it to our dental lab for custom crown, bridge, or aligner fabrication. The result? Faster turnaround times, better-fitting restorations, and a much more comfortable experience.

Soft Tissue Laser

Our soft tissue laser provides pinpoint precision for treating gum disease and contouring gum tissue. The laser targets infected areas without touching healthy gum tissue, delivering highly accurate results with minimal discomfort.

Built-in cauterization means minimal bleeding and swelling, leading to faster healing compared to traditional methods. Plus, the laser works without unnecessary vibrations, heat, or noise—making your treatment quieter and more comfortable.

Digital Cavity Detection

Our digital cavity detection system uses advanced transillumination technology to detect tooth decay in its earliest stages. This innovative technology can identify cavities on tooth surfaces, inside teeth, and in between teeth—often before they're visible on traditional X-rays.

Early detection means we can intervene with conservative treatments, potentially avoiding the need for extensive restorative work down the road. It's preventive care at its best, helping you maintain healthier teeth for life.

In-Office 3D Printers

Our in-office 3D printing technology allows us to create custom dental appliances, surgical guides, and models right here in our practice. This means faster turnaround times for many treatments and greater precision in planning complex procedures.

From clear aligners and night guards to implant surgical guides, we can produce high-quality dental devices on-site, reducing wait times and ensuring perfect fit. This technology gives us greater control over quality and allows for same-day adjustments when needed.

Technology Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about the advanced technology we use at Cannady Dental.

Yes, cone beam CT imaging is extremely safe. While it does use X-rays, the radiation exposure is minimal—comparable to a few days of natural background radiation. The detailed 3D images provide invaluable diagnostic information that helps us plan safer, more precise treatments, making the minimal exposure well worth the significant benefits.
Digital impressions with our iTero scanner typically take just a few minutes per arch. The handheld scanner glides comfortably over your teeth, capturing thousands of images that are instantly compiled into a precise 3D model. Most patients find the process much faster and more comfortable than traditional impressions, with no gagging or waiting for putty to set.
Laser dentistry is typically much more comfortable than traditional methods. The laser's precision means less trauma to surrounding tissues, and its built-in cauterization reduces bleeding and swelling. Many patients report minimal discomfort during and after laser procedures. In many cases, laser treatments require little to no anesthesia, and recovery times are significantly faster.
In most cases, yes. Dental insurance typically covers the procedure itself, regardless of the technology used to perform it. For example, if you need a crown, your insurance will cover the crown whether we use traditional impressions or digital scanning. Some advanced imaging like cone beam CT may require prior authorization for certain procedures. Our team will work with your insurance provider to maximize your benefits and ensure you understand your coverage before treatment begins.
